Media Integration Dance Performance, 2014.
Choreography By Dionne Noble
As part of a collaboration, we set out with choreographer Dionne Noble to explore the world of media integration for live performance. This piece involves the use of technology interacting with dance. The stage is set with two live video cameras, a computer running Isadora, and three projectors. Isadora, a live video manipulation software, receives the feeds from the cameras and then sends a manipulated image to the projectors. The dancers can then dance in front of, or with the camera yielding an interesting image that corresponds with Dionne’s choreography. In addition to the lighting and projections design, we created a sound-scape/soundtrack for this piece, which is presented in 5.1 surround sound.
