Once Upon an Opera was a opera scenes program put together by Rebecca Renfro Grimes at SHSU. Continuing in our long collaboration, she hired me to light the show. We had the challenge of lighting multiple forest exterior scenes that occurred at various times of day and night. The major limitation was the number of circuits given in the Recital Hall. Only 10 are usually available, however, we were able to acquire a remote dimmer pack and added 12 more circuits. This allowed us to use side and top light, which is normally unavailable. I was the production photographer in addition to the lighting designer.
